Dr. Hummel completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1983. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati Medical College, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1988. Dr. Hummel completed his fellowship in aesthetic plastic surgery with recognized facial rejuvenation experts Dr. Baker, Dr. Gordon and Dr. Stuzin in Miami, Florida. He is a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons (FACS), a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and a member of the American Board of Surgery (ABS).

In addition to his professional board certifications, Dr. Hummel is a member in good standing of the prestigious American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).  Dr. Hummel was voted one of Cincinnati Top Docs by Cincinnati Magazine in 2008, 2010, as well as 2012.
